SINGER DENISE LESLIE SALUTES 1970’S WITH DEBUT JAZZ RECORDING, ONE FINE MORNING

Toronto, ON – With a unique sound that seamlessly blends Jazz with elements of Pop and R&B, there is something for every music fan to love about vocalist Denise Leslie. The effervescent singer is set to release her debut recording One Fine Morning in the coming weeks.

With infectious grooves and fresh Jazz arrangements, One Fine Morning features well-crafted renditions of cherished pop songs from the 1970s including hits from Lighthouse, Van Morrison, Maria Muldaur, George Benson and The Police. The new recording offers a fresh sound that is hip, innovative and familiar all at once. Showcasing Leslie’s impressive vocal range and dynamic phrasing, One Fine Morning is an album not to be missed.

Indeed Leslie’s collection of stellar material required a top-notch team to bring it to life. Produced by award-winning producer/guitarist Bob McAlpine the recording features celebrated bassist Pat Collins, drummer Paul DeLong, pianist Don Baird, as well as horn players from Brass Transit and Lighthouse. Tracks such as Driven to Tears showcase Leslie’s rhythmic sensitivity while other cuts including Reminiscing by Little River Band exude joy. Sneaking Up features the soul sounds of an incredible horn section teamed with Leslie’s effortless R&B vocal sensibilities.

“The music of the ‘70’s had a pureness; melody was more integral to songwriting and the great artists of our time dug deeper than ever creatively,” explains Leslie. “For each tune, I have a cherished personal memory, not to mention deep felt respect for the artistry behind each song…I’m particularly excited to shed the spotlight on some of these “undersung” heroes of songwriting from the 1970s, and believe that these tunes will resonate with many listeners of my generation and beyond.”

One Fine Morning incorporates jazz influences from legendary masters including George Benson, Steely Dan and Miles Davis. Leslie has succeeded in crafting a unique album that is both heartfelt and personally significant while packing a powerful PUNCH.
